Uvira
Fall 2020
Uvira acts as storage unit that passively cleans small items like keys, phones, etc.
Abstract:
This project was undertaken as a favor for a colleague in BU Questrom School of Business.

This project showed me that with a eye for detail, the ability to work with sparse information, and an understanding of the big picture, the final product can be something the customer takes great pride in.

To match the company's vision, I had to fully understand the stance this product was taking in its respective market, and create a simple, but effective display.

This CAD model was created in Solidworks.
Design:
The bulk of my designwork for Uvira this was modeling the display for the device. The device itself was largely complete when this project came to me; all that was needed were some minor tweaks to make it look and feel more professional - material selection, filleting.

There were no dimension requirements or templates, just simple instructions to create a display that includes the given visuals and to "make it look professional." A few simple but effective design choices were made to add professionalism:

The display pictures are raised off of the backboard to give the visuals more depth and realism.
The Uvira logo warranted its own display, as opposed to slapping the visual on the pedestal itself.

These touches of detail improve the overall look and feel of the final product and can easily elevate a "simple" project.
Shown above is the final product showcased in their final business plan.
